Frequently Asked Questions about Lifting Slings

How do I choose the right lifting sling for my application?
Choosing a lifting sling depends on the weight of the load, the surface finish of the item, and the environment. Polyester webbing slings are ideal for finished parts to prevent scratching, while round hoist slings offer excellent flexibility for varied hitch types.

What is the difference between a Duplex sling and a Round sling?
A Duplex lifting sling is a flat belt made of two layers of webbing, providing a wide surface area to cradle the load. An endless round sling is a continuous loop of polyester yarn inside a protective sleeve, making it a very supple and versatile hoist sling.

How often should I inspect my hoist slings?
Under UK law (LOLER), a sling for lifting must be thoroughly examined by a competent person at least every six months. You should also perform a visual pre-use check before every lift to look for nicks, tears, or chemical damage.

Can you provide custom lifting slings?
Yes. While we stock a massive range from brands like Miller Weblift, we also provide bespoke lengths and capacities. If you need a specific lifting sling tailored to your project, our team can help.
