Why Choose Our Duplex Flat Slings?

A duplex flat sling is constructed from two layers of heavy-duty polyester webbing sewn together. This "duplex" construction offers a higher weight capacity while maintaining a wide profile, which helps to spread the load and protect the cargo during transit.

Unlike single-layer simplex alternatives, our flat lifting slings offer enhanced durability and a higher safety factor for demanding environments. If your application requires something different, we also supply extra-wide simplex slings, endless flat lifting slings, and one-way "one-use only" slings. Ultimate Lifting Solutions Limited only supply quality lifting equipment that conforms to relevant safety standards.

Safety Guaranteed: All duplex flat slings are supplied with full certification and are ready for immediate use.

Versatile Lifting: Our flat lifting slings are ideal for moving delicate or finished parts without the risk of scratching or damage associated with chains.

Colour Coded: Our slings follow the international colour coding system for easy identification of Safe Working Loads (SWL).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a duplex webbing sling?
A duplex webbing sling is a lifting strap made from two layers of woven polyester material. This double-layer design provides a higher lifting capacity than a single-layer (simplex) sling while remaining lightweight and easy to handle.

What is the difference between a flat web sling and a round sling?
A flat web sling has a wide surface area, which is excellent for supporting loads that could be damaged by high-pressure points. A round sling consists of a core of polyester yarn protected by a tubular sleeve; while round slings are very flexible, flat slings offer better stability for certain load types.

What safety standards do your flat lifting slings meet?

All of our lifting slings are manufactured to the BS EN 1492-1 standard. Every sling is issued with a Certificate of Conformity, ensuring it meets UK health and safety regulations for lifting equipment.

How do I know which colour sling to choose?
Webbing slings are colour-coded by capacity: Purple denotes 1 Tonne, Green denotes 2 Tonnes, Yellow denotes 3 Tonnes, Grey denotes 4 Tonnes, Red denotes 5 Tonnes, Brown denotes 6 Tonnes, Blue denotes 8 Tonnes, and Orange denotes 10 Tonnes or above.

Can I use a duplex flat sling for chemicals or heat?
Polyester slings have good resistance to most mineral acids but can be damaged by alkalis. They are generally suitable for use in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +100°C. If you are working in extreme environments, please consult our technical team first.
