Snatch Chains Grade 8 (7mm dia - 13mm Dia) - tested & certified snatch chains are a great addition to any ground working team on site. These chain snatch slings easily fit to a backhoe loader, digger or JCB - all you need is a shackle and you have now turned your digger into a lifting point.

Snatch Chains Grade 8 (7mm dia - 13mm Dia)

In-service inspection and maintenance requirements on chain slings are minimal. Try to keep the condition of the chain slings clean and protect them from corrosion as much as possible. Be sure to regularly inspect chain slings and, in the event of the following defects, refer the sling to a competent person for a thorough examination.

Be sure to keep a keen eye out for: illegible markings; distortion of fittings; worn, stretched, bent, or twisted links; ineffective safety catches; cuts, nicks, gouges, cracks, corrosion, heat discoloration or any other defect apparent to the chain or fittings.

In the UK, the Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) make it clear that all chain slings used for lifting purposes are lifting accessories. They should therefore be subject to a thorough examination by a competent person at least every six months. Regardless of the prevailing legislation, the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) strongly recommends that this policy is adopted by all those with responsibility for ensuring the safe condition of lifting equipment.
