The Risks - The person inside the MEWPs could fall. The person inside could be thrown from the MEWPs - In either scenario, if the person inside the work platform was wearing an MEWPs harness kit then they would not fall out or be thrown from the working cage. The lanyard that has been secured correctly to a suitable anchorage point would prevent the fall. for work restrain situations, the lanyard needs only be rated for restraint. a Fall arrest lanyard is not required.
