Difference between a Forklift Tipping Skip and a Telehandler Skip. There are two main differences between the two types of tipping skip attachments. A Forklift Tipping Skip fits onto a traditional Forklift and is commonly used around factories to remove waste materials to larger yard skips. to empty a tipping skip, a lever is operated and the front bucket will tip forward for emptying. once empty, the operator must manually return the bucket to the locked position before it can be filled. With a Telehandler Tipping Skip, the bucket is actually fixed into position, as the pivoting forks of the Telehandler machine are used to create the tipping motion. The second main difference is due to the forks of the Telehandler tilting forwards and backwards, a clever auto-locking mechanism has been designed to lock the skip onto the telehandler, whereas a forklift tipping skip just slides on and off the forklift forks unless a restraint chain is used.

How Does a Telehandler Skip Work? Very simple design and is easier to use.

A Telehandler Skip can be operated without the need for the driver to move from inside the cab to raise, transport, and lower the auto-lock skip. In fact, all the driver needs to do is simply drive up to the telehandler skip and slide the fork tines into the fork pockets located at the back of the Telehandler skip. then fully drive forward until the skip heels are activated onto the back of the telehandler forks. The floating gas strut supporting the fork heels becomes active once the tipping skip is raised from the ground and the telehandler tipping skip is now locked into position and the skip is safe and securely attached to the telehandler, it will not slip, slide or fall off the telehandler forks. making this style of tipping skip safer than the standard tipping skips that use restraint chains to hold the tipping skip onto the forklift or telehandler. When the Teleskip is lowered fully to the floor, the auto-lock mechanism will disengage and the driver can reverse out and away from the tipping skip.
