Probst Mechanical Concrete Gully Lifter is the perfect solution for loading and offloading Gullies from transport or delivery lorries safely and quickly. The Gully Lifter can be attached to an Excavator, Backactor, Crane, or Hiab quickly and easily and has been designed to fit snugly onto the outside of the gully in three positions, making accommodations for the spout.
Fitted with rubber contact points that will not damage the concrete construction. Concrete Gullies are manufactured with all the weight being at the top and therefore for stability reasons are dispatched upside-down. The mechanical Road Gully lifter takes advantage of this and with its three points of contact will self-centre on the gully barrel, so lifting and transportation are safer.
Another advantage of using the mechanical Gully Grab from Probst is that it converts the unloading process into a one-man operation, with no need for a second person to be on the back of the lorry. The person operating the crane or excavator or Hiab does not need to leave the cab to safely lift and move the Gully Pots.
Why was the Gully Grab Designed - The Gully mechanical grab was developed in conjunction with a leading UK manufacturer of precast concrete elements to make road gully unloading and handling safer, quicker, and easier. Due to Concrete Gullies being "top-heavy" in design, they are usually dispatched upside down on lorries. The Gully Lifter takes advantage of this, and with its three points of contact self-centres on the gully barrel, there is no reason for an extra person on the trailer whilst offloading, and can turn offload into a one-man operation.
