Please note: In accordance with national and international occupational safety and health regulations, hoisting equipment must be inspected at least annually by a competent person. Adverse working conditions may require more frequent inspections.

What lifting capacities are available for the 110V CM Lodestar?

The CM Lodestar (110V) is available in a wide range of lifting capacities to suit various industrial needs, ranging from 250kg up to 3,000kg (3 tonnes).

What is the standard duty cycle for this hoist?

The hoist is designed for heavy-duty applications with an H4 duty rating. It has an FEM classification of 2m, which allows for 40% to 50% duty cycles—roughly 24 to 30 minutes of continuous use per hour.

Can the CM Lodestar be used outdoors?

Yes. While it features a rugged, lightweight aluminium alloy cover that protects internal components, it can also be supplied with an optional raincoat specifically for outdoor use. Additionally, fabric chain bags are available that are UV-resistant and designed for extended outdoor life.

How is the hoist protected from overheating or overloads?

Every CM Lodestar hoist comes standard with thermal overload protection to prevent motor damage and a Protector overload device to protect the hoist and operator from excessive loads.

Does the hoist require special tools for maintenance?

No. The Lodestar is designed for ease of service. Its components are easily accessible, and no special tools are required for disassembly. Furthermore, the gear train is lifetime lubricated with non-oxidising grease, reducing long-term maintenance needs.

What safety certifications does the hoist meet?

The CM Lodestar meets ASME B30.16 standards and is metric rated. Each unit is thoroughly inspected and tested to over 125% of its rated load before shipment.

How often should the hoist be inspected?

In accordance with safety regulations, the hoist must be inspected at least annually by a competent person. If the hoist is used in adverse or particularly harsh environments, more frequent inspections may be required.

Can I adjust how high or low the hook travels?

Yes. The hoist features adjustable screw-type limit switches for both upper and lower travel, allowing you to set precise stopping points for your lifting operations.
